The Instructor process will provide an overview of how to become an RC (UK) Instructor. The Instructor process varies depending on the course, so please read the descriptions below to ensure you are familiar with the correct process for your course.

ALS, EPALS, NLS, Instructor Potentials (IP):

The Director on your provider course will submit their post-course report and the assessment paperwork after the course concludes. We will verify your IP status and update your RC (UK) LMS account. You will then receive an email confirming your IP status with further instructions on how to proceed. Once you opt-in, we will create an account for you on our GIC VLE.

Once you successfully complete the GIC course, we will update your RC (UK) LMS account and add your Instructor Candidate (IC) status. You are then required to undertake two teaching practices as an IC to continue your journey to become a full ALS/EPALS/NLS Instructor.

The Course Centre where you successfully complete your IC placements will submit your results. We will then verify and update your RC (UK) LMS accountaccordingly. At that time, you will receive an email confirming your full Instructor status. You will then be able to download your certificate which is valid for four years.

ARNI Instructor Potential (IP):

To become an ARNI Instructor you must be an NLS Instructor first. When you are identified on the course as an Instructor Potential (IP), the director on your course will submit their post-course report and assessment paperwork. We will then verify your IP status and update your RC (UK) LMS account accordingly. As an established NLS Instructor, you will move directly to undertaking a minimum of two Instructor Candidate (IC) teaching practices. These must be completed within four years.

ILS and pILS Instructor Potential (IP):

The Course Administrator/Course Director will create an account for you on the RC (UK) LMS. We will then verify your IP status and you will receive a confirmation email with further instructions on how to proceed and how to undertake the ILSi course.
